Entreat, Expect, Enjoy

  • Entreat – to beg desperately, even repeatedly.
  • Expect – wait for, look forward to the anticipated thing.
  • Enjoy – to have the full and satisfying benefit of something.

Oh yes, we entreat God often enough. We maybe expect him to answer. However, I am not sure that we really enjoy it when he does answer. Too often we are racing ahead to the next problem instead of taking a moment and savouring the blessings we just got.

Of course we always thank God for his son…but maybe we could remember to mention the other stuff too.

Always be joyful and never stop praying. Whatever happens, keep thanking God because of Jesus Christ. This is what God wants you to do. (1 Thessalonians 5:116-18, CEV)

Prayer – Thanks God for giving us the privilege of entreating, expecting, and enjoying. Amen
