Ephesians 3:4–Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ. (KJV)
One of my favorite childhood memories is of all of us (Mom, Dad, Randy, Judy, Larry and I) gathered around the kitchen wood stove on a winter’s evening, to read. Not a word might be said for a couple of hours, then a parent would say, “Time for bed.” Off we would go, protesting loudly and trying to figure out how to finish the chapter. Only brother Larry had the foresight to ask for the gift of a flashlight at Christmas so that he could read under the covers!
