1 Corinthians 13:12: For now we see through a glass darkly, but then face to face: now I know in part; but then I shall know even as also I am known. (KJV)
“You’ll know me by the picture on my book,” she wrote. I know a little more than that about Anne Russell. By reading her book and her regular letters, I know about her faith, her family and her heart for Jesus. I’ll be speaking at Stonecroft Christian Women’s Club in her hometown and we’ll meet face to face. Then I’ll know Anne in a more complete way. I’ll hear her voice, know what her laugh sounds like and see how tall she is.
I know Jesus by His picture also. It’s in the book! Every Bible page tells me something about Him and his Father.
John 14:9: Jesus said to him, “Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father; how do you say, “show us the Father?” (NKJV)
Someday we’ll meet God face to face. For now, we have the book and fellow Christians who are becoming more like Him. Face to face will be great, but till then we have the Book.
Colossians 2:1b: Not many of you have met me face to face, but that doesn’t make any difference. Know that I’m on your side, right along side of you. You’re not in this alone.(MSG)
Prayer: God, thanks for the Book. Your pictures are so clear. What a privilege to open it daily and learn about You. Amen.
