Are we courageous enough to recognize our failings, take care of ourselves and if necessary, ask for some of that help that we so freely dole out to others?
Romans 15:1-2 appears to speak to us helping others.
We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves. Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up. (Romans 15:1-2, NIV)
But are we always strong? Don’t we falter some times? What if we need a hand and the hand is ours? What if looking after those around us, first depends on our choosing to do what is best for us?
Prayer- Father God, help us to see our own selves with honesty. We want to be honest enough to ask for help when we need it, instead of pretending to be ok all the time. Amen.
