I’ve had a few months of undiagnosed pain and various medical trials. Nothing seems to work very well. I am ashamed to say that the unknown took over my thinking.
What if I have???
Maybe it is???
Is it catching??
Should I stay away from my friends and family?
Am I just a wimp?
Then I remembered my oft-given advice. Check out the Bible for the subject that is dragging you down. Here is my best of the ‘fear’ bunch.
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)
I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side. (Psalm 3:6)
Fear the Lord, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing. (Psalm 34:9)
You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day. (Psalm 91:5)
Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. (Proverbs 3:7)
But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.” (1 Peter 3:14)
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. (1 John 4:18)
And I gave all my worries to God. Do I still have undiagnosed pain? Yes, I do. Am I in a better place in my mind? Yes, I am. I needed reminding that no matter what, my Lord God and Saviour are with me through it all…as he is with you, dear friend.
