Freed Slaves

Epictetus was born a slave but he learned that freedom is a stage of the heart, not circumstances.

“Sickness is a hindrance to the body, but not to your ability to choose, unless that is your choice.
Lameness is a hindrance to the leg, but not to your ability to choose. Say this to yourself with regard to everything that happens, then you will see such obstacles as hindrances to something else but not to yourself.” – Epictetus

We all have those choices. We can wallow or win. Which one is yours? Pray for wisdom and strength to make those right choices. 

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1, KJV)

Prayer-Lord, we are tired of slavery. We want freedom in Christ. Show us the path and help us break the chains of life that bind us. Amen.
