Fruit of the Holy Spirit

I promised you more about the fruit of the Spirit yesterday and here it is.

The Holy Spirit helps us to love others, even the unlovely in our lives. He encourages us to be joyful and glad.  We experience his peace.

Incredibly, the Holy Spirit also helps us be patient, to endure and to be steadfast. In spite of ourselves and because of him, we find ourselves displaying more kindness and gentleness. 

We experience more goodness and virtue. We understand his truth. We find our faith increasing. Incredibly, we slowly become more meek, mild and God-like.

Finally he helps us control our desired and passions, our addictions.

Why you might ask; because he is working on behalf of God the Father and Jesus Christ his Son to make us better people. That’s why we can live better than we are. 

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7, NIV)

Prayer – Thank you, Father God; for giving us the Holy Spirit. We are most grateful for the changes he makes in our lives. Amen.
