Many of you will remember experiencing growing pains, those painful childhood cramps in your lower limbs. I would cry out to Mom about my pain and she would say, “Just go to sleep. It’s only growing pains!” Meanwhile, I was thinking, “If this is growing up, I’d like to stay as I am!”
No one really knows what causes growing pains. They just are. It might be helpful to massage or stretch the painful spots, or even use a heating pad on the area. Ask your doctor for more advice.
The key is not to give up during the growing pains. Eventually, you will literally grow out of the growing pains.
Our spiritual life is also full of growing pains. Tough things happen to us and some of us cry out that its too much. And God says, “Rest easy, it’s just growing pains.
When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. (1 Corinthians 13:11)
But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. (2 Timothy 3:14-15)
