Halloween Craze

What if we set Halloween side by side with Christmas? Do you see people demanding Satan be kept out of Halloween? No, not at all. On the other hand, how many times do we hear about Christ and manger scenes being removed from the offended eyes of passersby?

Do we dress for Christmas as we do for Halloween? Halloween is known for its scary costume appeal while at Christmas we see people dressed in their best for the event.

One exudes light and peace and life while the other one offers darkness, fear, and death.

One celebrates life while the other celebrates death.

And so we find our level in the one we choose, not so much on the holiday itself but in the way we choose to live.

“This is the crisis we’re in: God-light streamed into the world, but men and women everywhere ran for the darkness. They went for the darkness because they were not really interested in pleasing God. Everyone who makes a practice of doing evil, addicted to denial and illusion, hates God-light and won’t come near it, fearing a painful exposure. But anyone working and living in truth and reality welcomes God-light so the work can be seen for the God-work it is.” (John 3:19-21, MSG)

Prayer- Lord, help us choose the light of Christ. Amen.
