Happy Canada Day!

Did you know that Canada is the second largest country in the world? That we are not buried under snow and do not all live in igloos? Our climate varies from the sublime to the ridiculous, depending on who you ask.

We have a small population, about 10% the size of the USA. We welcome immigrants of all sizes, shapes and colours. We have two official languages, English and French, and we pride ourselves on being Canadian.

Our natural resources are abundant. Our factories and business flourish. We have a strong tourist industry, and we are one of the safest countries in the world.

Canada used to belong to Great Britain but in 1867 became the Dominion of Canada, while at the same time remaining loyal to Britain. Since then, we’ve grown from four provinces into ten provinces and several territories. It’s a splendid history, but God’s is greater.

Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all he does. (Psalm 145:13, NIV)

Prayer – Father God, thank you that your dominion lasts longer than any nation can. Amen
