My latest Bible study is called ‘Happy Daze, Life after 40, Living in Living in Freedom every day!’ I used daze instead of days, because that’s how life sweeps over us. We get to a certain age and act surprised about the whole thing.
What happened, where did the time go, how did I get here, what’s next for me? Life isn’t over at 35 or 40; but it is shorter. We have to decide what to do with the time we have left.
At 40, many people want to make life changing decisions. The difficult things about life changes must take expenses into consideration. Have you children to support, a mortgage to pay, parents in need? Are you healthy enough to give up a company pension?
Do you have the energy to work full time while writing the novel of the century? The good aspects of a career change include your previous experience; and any gained confidence.
Answers come to us when we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.
For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love.
(Galatians 5:13 NASB)
