Hearing God

I’m sure the writer meant to say ‘How Can I Hear You, God?’   Instead, the text read ‘How Can I Heard You, God?’

And I interpreted it as ‘How Can I Herd You, God?’ Listening to God and doing what He says is definitely not the same thing as trying to corral God into a place where He does what we want.

My Dad had a fierce, powerful bull that he couldn’t trust one bit. He kept it chained and that heavy chain hooked through a ring in its nose. One jerk of the chain the bull went to its knees.

Is this how we treat God? Consider the foolishness of that. How often have we prayed for something, knowing full well that it did not agree with God’s Word? Or prayed, not realizing we were out of God’s will, because we didn’t read what the Bible said about it?

God will not be herded.

[Yes] I will grant [I Myself will do for you] whatever you shall ask in My Name [as presenting all that I Am]. (John 14:14, AMP)

Prayer-Lord give us the common sense to check with your will before begging for our own way. Amen
