Some will tell you that tithing comes from the Old Testament so it is not important. But we can’t pick and choose what we like and don’t like in the Bible, the word of God. We use the ten commandments from Old Testament; we teach lessons from the Old Testament.
Of course, it matters.
And here is a question for everyone listening. If the Lord isn’t Lord of everything in your life, is he really your Lord at all?
We don’t tithe because we don’t trust God. If we don’t tithe, we are cheating ourselves!
We’ve seen miracle after miracle as God has worked in our lives. I’ll give you a couple of examples.
When we were building our new church, we considered what to contribute. Ron and I felt that $ 7500.00 was what God was asking of us. The free grant for our new porch was exactly 7500.00.
A trip to Israel came up and I wanted to go so badly but it was $5000.00 and we didn’t have it. I told God that if he wanted me to go to Israel, he’d have to give me the money.
I walked into my friend’s house a few minutes later and she said “I want to help you go to Israel and she handed me a check for $5000.00. (Which I immediately tithed on.)
Bring your full tithe to the Temple treasury so there will be ample provisions in my Temple. Test me in this and see if I don’t open up heaven itself to you and pour out blessings beyond your wildest dreams. (See Malachi 3)
Funny sideline. While waiting at the airport, I prayed, God I will never ask for another trip, except maybe to go to England! And we were held over and had lunch in the London airport!
