Junk Mail

Philippians 4:8Finally brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things (RSV).

Because I use the Internet, I get junk mail. I click on tool bar, select blocked sender list and stop most of it, but the senders are determined to break through my wall of purity. They change their address or misspell words so that my system can’t catch them. We all have the same problem, but what will we do with the ones that get through? Forget about viruses destroying our system. Obscene messages are far more dangerous to our minds than they are to our computer. Will we peek? Or will we delete?

God gives us a clear plan. We are to set our minds to think on the true, the honorable, the just, the pure, the lovely, the gracious, the excellent, and anything worthy of praise. Delete is the only answer for the obscene junk mail that flies into our homes everyday.

Prayer: Father God, we want clean minds. No one can give us this gift, but you. Give us thoughts higher than ourselves, a purpose bigger than filth. Give us the grace to delete anything that makes us less than Godly. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
