Now an omer is the tenth of an ephah. (Exodus 16:36, AMP)
Let me translate some of this for you.
An omer is about 9.30 cups while an ephah is a little more than a bushel. A log is equal to the contents of six hen eggs and the Maris is about 30.3 litres. And the litre is??? I still haven’t figured out the metric system we use now in Canada.
Do these things really matter? No, not really, but it is interesting to know, don’t you think? Still, bunny trails like this can sidetrack us from the Gospel if we let them. Let’s not be like the Pharisees who were so concentrated on the small things that they missed the big ones.
But woe to you, Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and every [little] herb, but disregard and neglect justice and the love of God. These you ought to have done without leaving the others undone. (Luke 11:42, AMP)
Prayer- Lord, thank you that you don’t measure or nit pick our sins like we do with your word. Amen.
