Just Stand

  1. Take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
  2. Put on the full armor of God, so that you may be able to stand your ground,
  3. and after you have done everything, stand.

To stand means to be in an upright position on the feet; to adhere to a certain policy or attitude or even to rest in an upright or vertical position.

It also means to endure or withstand, to perform one’s job or duty as in standing watch.

It is a remaining firm no matter what, to wait in anticipation or to represent something; to be convincing

Those who stand are durable. They defend and support. When they take a stand, they stand firmly on that position. They may be called to the witness stand. They stand firm and steadfast.

Dare we ask ourselves today how well we are standing for Jesus? Note that we have no armour for our backs so our choice is to stand or collapse while running.
