Leap Seconds

Forget Leap Year, we have something called leap seconds. It’s quite complicated, but apparently the earth’s rotation is slowing and those in the know add leap seconds to the world clock so that it all balances out.

These clocks are out only one second every 100 million years. (May I ask who has been around long enough to know that?) The earth on the other hand, is out about 1 second every 1 ½ years.

This could be worrying if we thought about it long enough. As for myself, I’m going to stick with God’s version.

And God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.(Genesis 1:5, AMP)

Nevertheless, do not let this one fact escape you, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day.The Lord does not delay and is not tardy or slow about what He promises, according to some people’s conception of slowness, but He is long-suffering (extraordinarily patient) toward you, not desiring that any should perish, but that all should turn to repentance. (2 Peter 3:8-9, AMP)

Prayer – Lord we trust you to keep the world going as it should. Amen
