Lessons in Love and Forgiveness

I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also.

If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you. (Luke 6, 27-30, NIV)

Then he added thoughts like this.

And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? But love your enemies, do good to them. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. (Luke 6:33, 35, 36, NIV)

But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you. (Psalm 130:4, NIV)

Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:38, NIV)

If you are asking why, I ask you, why not!

Prayer- Father God, how dare we expect your best for ourselves when we refuse it to others? Amen.
