We ALL LIE—oh yes we do! We say-“Oh, Mrs. Jones how nice you look today (while thinking) “Good grief, she looks terrible in orange!”) So we get to heaven and say to God—“Hey I’ve been a good person. Why, I only lied once to Mrs. Jones.
That’s like trying to be your own insurance company. It’s you deciding that your self-righteousness is equal to Christ who became righteousness on our behalf.
And do you know where liars go? The Bible says that they go into the lake of fire.
SO the question is—HOW CAN WE SAVE OURSELVES? It can’t be done.
On this one thing we all agree with God… We don’t want to end up in hell and he doesn’t want us there either. That’s why he sent Jesus to die for our sins…
Prayer – Lord Jesus, I do believe that you are the Son of God and that you died on the cross to pay the price for my sin. I believe that you rose from the dead and that you’re alive right now.
Please come into my life. Forgive my sin. Make me a member of your family. I now turn from going my own way. I want you to be the center of my life. Thank you for your gift of eternal life
and for your Holy Spirit who has come to live in me. Amen
