1Timothy 4:1-2– I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead, at his appearing and his kingdom; preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. (KJV)
“This section is too confusing.”
“The last paragraph is too long.”
“The scripture is incorrect.”
“Do you really want to share that story?”
I confess that I have had more than my share of editor corrections. While I have sometimes disagreed, the reworking of the page always proves the editor to be correct. Our goals are the same, but editors are not personally attached to the words. They can see the bigger picture.
God, our Life Editor, does the very same thing. Because He has a plan for us, He knows what needs to be done so that we can accomplish it.
While we are clinging to our own tiny world, wanting our own tiny results, God is waiting to rewrite us, in His own time and with His own methods.
Prayer: Dear God, bring on the pen. Slash, cut and scribble through our lives. Rewrite us so that nothing shows but Jesus. Amen.
