When God promised Abraham that his offspring would be as numerous as the stars, Abraham was looking at the night sky with about eight thousand visible stars. 

When the Bible says ‘In the beginning, God created…’ that Hebrew word for create is only ever used for God’s creating and is not to be found anywhere else in the Bible!

Seemingly small sins have big consequences. Samson vowed to be a Nazarite (ie. Dedicated One). This included never cutting his hair.  He told Delilah, she cut his hair and Samson lost all his strength. (Judges 16)

It takes courage to acknowledge you will be second best. Jonathon recognized David would be king by gifting him his robe, belt, sword, and even bow. (1 Samuel 20)

Small but mighty Jerusalem in David’s time was only about 10-11 acres in size or about eight football fields. 

When you take on responsibilities you do not own, bad things can happen. King Uzziah did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, just as his father had done. The high places, however, were not removed; the people continued to offer sacrifices and burn incense there.
