Little by Little

Deuteronomy 7:22And the Lord your God will clear out those nations before you, little by little; you may not consume them quickly, lest the beasts of the field increase among you (AMP).

My weight isn’t what I want it to be. I struggle daily to make right choices, like fruit instead of chocolate, or a tall glass of water rather than a second helping. I am not what I want to be, but thank God, I am not what I was.  I am no longer bulimic. I no longer consume 50,000 plus calories at a go. There are no more three-day food binges in my life and I no longer steal food or hide while I consume it. Little by little, ever since I first asked Jesus to forgive my sins and come into my heart, little by little, he has been giving me victory over the ‘nations’of my life.

Your ‘nations’may not look like mine. Still, when each of us checks the rear view mirror of our life with Christ, we will see more success than failure. God has been working, little by little, in our lives. While we have been concentrating on what we aren’t, God is delighted with our small regular steps of success.

Prayer: Lord God, Forgive us for focusing on what we are not. We give you thanks for all the little by littles you have led us through. And we praise you for all the others to come. In Jesus’ name. Amen
