Eleanor Roosevelt said that no one could make you feel inferior without your consent.
Abraham Lincoln pointed out that “It is difficult to make a person miserable while she feels worthy of herself and claims kindred to the great God who made her.”
We carry this thought; there will always be someone willing to hurt you, put you down, gossip about you, belittle your accomplishments and judge your soul. Let it never be you!
And finally, the great reversal of all we just said, Kermit bemoaning the fact that he is green.
Do we really watch our mouths and what we say? I know I don’t. How about you?
Words have power. What do yours say? Has criticism or unkindness encouraged you, grown you, set you free? No. You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.”
All the people were amazed and said to each other, “What words these are! With authority and power he gives orders to impure spirits and they come out!”(Luke 4:36, NIV)
Prayer – Lord God, help us choose our words carefully so that they honour who you are and how you have made us. For Christ, Amen
