My Motivator

We do what we do because it satisfies some need within ourselves. What does your binging, smoking, lying, dishonesty (whatever!) do for you? It offers only temporary satisfaction. It will not comfort grief, or soften anger in the long run. There is a better way.

In the multitude of my [anxious] thoughts within me, Your comforts cheer and delight my soul! (Psalm 94:19, AMP)

This is my comfort and consolation in my affliction: that Your word has revived me and given me life. (Psalm 119:50, AMP)

For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good—not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne.( Matthew 11:30, AMP)

Prayer:  Lord, help us turn to you instead of our ____________, for you are the source of every comfort. You are our consolation and our encouragement!  (From 2 Corinthians 1:3)
