Noah beat a flood, Daniel a lion.
Moses, a kingdom, Dan’s friends? No fryin’.
Then there is me.
Samson slayed hundreds, Gideon too.
Abraham, obedient. Isaiah, true.
Then there is me.
If Eve passed the apple
And generations did too,
But then there is me.
How do we measure up against super folk like these? What could we possibly do for God that is worth anything to him, especially when we are at our worst, like we all are, sometimes?
Like David, I am besieged on every side. I am tired and lonely and worn down. I have nothing to cling to so I do the only thing I know to do.
He who believes in Him, who clings to, trusts in, and relies on Him is not judged for there is no rejection, no condemnation, no damnation there. (John 3:18a)
