National Stay at Home Day

Seriously, today is National Stay at Home Day because you are well! I kid you not. A little ironic under this year’s circumstances, isn’t it? Staying at home, distancing and wearing masks has helped us avoid the effects of Covid 19. And then we find it’s a real day! Oh God has such a sense of humour, friends.

And yet, like me, perhaps you ask God this question. How much longer Oh Lord? We certainly aren’t the first and probably not the last to beg an answer.

How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever?   How long will you hide your face from me?

How long must I take counsel in my soul and have sorrow in my heart all the day?

How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?

Consider and answer me, O Lord my God; light up my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death, lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed over him,” lest my foes rejoice because I am shaken. (From Psalm 13)

And the answer is still the same now as it was then. Psalm 13 continues with instructions for us.

But I have trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, because he has dealt bountifully with me.

Prayer- Lord we are all weary. We beg you take pity on your people for the sake of Christ. Amen.
