Yes it is New Year’s Eve; that day when we can roll all our past into our past and start into a new future. The Bible often mentions the new day.
Light is sweet; how pleasant to see a new day dawning. (Ecclesiastes 11:7, NLT)
Early on Sunday morning, as the new day was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went out to visit the tomb. (Matthew 28:1, NLT)
That’s what the New Year can be for us. A new beginning, as we take what happened to us or through us this past year and let it go. Then we can concentrate on the New Year and live it as fully as we can through the resurrection of the Christ. We can claim his promises and live them as our own, for he died for each of us individually.
Prayer – Lord, we ask that all of us may go forward into the New Year, living well under your influence. Amen
