Nothing New

What is holding you back from writing your story? Oh, let me make a list for you. It’s the same one I struggled through in my day.

  • I have no time for this.
  • I am shy.
  • My story is boring.
  • I don’t have a writing routine.
  • I need a quiet place to work.
  • I don’t think I am spiritual enough.
  • I don’t want to face that stuff all over again.
  • What will people think of me?
  • I am not a public speaker.
  • I don’t like to travel.

Chock all that up to fear. That’s right. Our number one enemy is fear. This is what God has to say about fear.

There is no room in love for fear. Well-formed love banishes fear. Since fear is crippling, a fearful life—fear of death, fear of judgment—is one not yet fully formed in love. (1 John 4:18, MSG)

Notice how the woman who touched the hem of Christ’s robe responded to her fear.

The woman, knowing what had happened, knowing she was the one, stepped up in fear and trembling, knelt before him, and gave him the whole story.(Mark 5:33, MSG)

Prayer- Well God, I may indeed be untrained as a speaker, but I do have knowledge. (2 Corinthians 11:6a, NIV)   So here I am, stepping up in fear and trembling, and giving you my story to use as you see fit.  Amen
