David Livingstone went to Africa as a missionary and ended up mapping much of it. The slave trade horrified him and he worked toward its end.
Henry Stanley, the reporter who interviewed Livingstone –said this about him.
“In 1871 I went to him as prejudiced as the biggest atheist in London. I saw this old solitary old man there and I asked myself, “Why on earth is he here?” I found myself listening to him and wondering at the old man, carrying out all that the Bible says. I was converted by him although he had not tried to do it.”
“God, send me anywhere, only go with me. Lay any burden on me, only sustain me. And sever any tie in my heart except the tie that binds my heart to yours.” David Livingstone
“All that I am I owe to Jesus Christ, revealed to me in His divine Book.” David Livingstone
We may not get to Africa, but if we live a Godly life where we are, someone will say… I was converted by him/her although they had not tried to do it.
Then saith he unto his disciples, the harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few. (Matthew 9:37, KJV)
Prayer – Lord, help us to live the kind of life that looks just like you. Amen
