The Israelites needed food in the wilderness and God sent them manna. They were only to pick what they could use daily. When they tried to save it over, it was full of bugs and smelled really bad. (See Exodus 16:19-21)
We need Jesus everyday. We can’t hold onto him through the revelation of yesterdays. We need him every day. Yes, I just said that twice. It’s important.
He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. (Deuteronomy 8:3, NIV)
When did we last partake of the Bread of Life Jesus?
Dear Bread of Life Jesus;
Thank you for making yourself clear to us. When I think of bread, I remember the aroma of fresh bread wafting through my Granny’s house. I think of its delicious taste; its filling substance. Thank you, Jesus, that you are all of those and more. Amen.
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4b, NIV).
