I searched frantically, and I was tremendously happy when I finally spotted my treasured bookmark on the ground by my car. I thought I’d lost it, that wire and bead thing that a friend gave me. Had I left it at church or dropped it in the driveway?
That search reminded me of how desperately I had longed for God so many years ago, and how grateful and relieved I was when I asked Jesus into my life as my Lord and Saviour
But all of a sudden, I’m so busy that I often take Him for granted. I never seem to have enough time to prayer or even read my Bible regularly.
I wasn’t sure how to find that same fellowship again, but James 4:8a pointed out how simple it is. When I draw near to God in prayer and Bible study, I find him right where He’d always been, waiting patiently for my attention.
Come near to God and he will come near to you. (James 4:8a, NIV)
Folks, here is the truth. God is as near to us as we want Him to be.
Prayer- God, thank you for always being where we can find you. Amen.
