Okay, I confess that I’ve spent my life eating pretend foods that are supposed to make my slightly chunky self, thinner than the regular stuff.
I can’t begin to write a complete list, but here are some of the offenders.
- Fat-free sour cream
- Fat-free yogurt
- Fat-free cheese
- Light salad dressing
- No salt pretzels
- Sugar-free catsup
- Small portion chips
- Plain popcorn
- Pretend peanut butter
A smaller portion of the real food would be much more satisfying. All that to say, a little bit of Jesus is better than a pretend faith of nothingness.
It’s better to at least ask Jesus into your life and forgive your sins than it is to be an atheist. However, you will miss out on the joy, the peace, the answered prayer, the fellowship of other Christians and more.
You can pretend to be full of life, or full of the Holy Spirit but you are still eating pretend low-fat, unsatisfying, not real Christ
You must not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, so that they may be seen by people. Truly I tell you, they have their reward in full already. (Matthew 6:5)
Just so, you also outwardly seem to people to be just and upright but inside you are full of pretense and lawlessness and iniquity. (Matthew 23:28)
