Professional Athletes

I laugh and think that I am not the person I professed to be.

Professional athlete is the term that poured right out of me.

But now on reconsidering and thinking of my ‘says,’

I am exactly what I said. I wasn’t in a daze;

For I am running steadily; although on bended knee.

I am exactly what I said, for I am Christ’s, set free.

Toward the goal I sprint and stride and step at quite a pace.

I run as one set to fully complete and win the Godly race.

Oh, yes I am an athlete, the best that I can be.

Professional athlete chasing prize to Christ. Oh yes, indeed! That’s me

Do you not know that in a race all the runners compete, but [only] one receives the prize? So run [your race] that you may lay hold [of the prize] and make it yours. (From 1 Corinthians 9:24, AMP)
