As I stated earlier, we are to care for our animals and use them for our own needs.
Good people take care of their animals; wicked people are cruel to theirs.
(Proverbs 12:10, GNT)
Sadly, however, some of us became animal worshippers. We place our pets above people. We embarrass our animals by dressing them in people’s clothing. God gave dogs a winter coat of their own. They do not need one of our designs.
We serve them expensive food made of vegetables and wheat when God designed them to eat meat.
Watch any dog on a leash. Every one of them turns away, embarrassed because their owner picks up their excrement and saves it in a baggie.
We give more to our animals than we do to people. Clearly, this is not God’s will.
Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap; they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds!
(Luke 12:24, NIV)
If we are more valuable to God than birds, it stands to reason that we are more valuable than any of the larger animals on earth.
