You can search for the legend yourself; why do donkeys have a cross on their back. No matter how it got there that cross reminds us that Jesus rode a donkey into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday.
See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey. (Zechariah 9:9, NIV)
Some days our life seems impossible to bear. Will we ride our own figurative donkey, the one that seems to take us ever closer to trials and despair?
Will we stay close to the cross of Christ no matter what awful thing looms in our future?
Prayer- Lord, so often we don’t know what to do. All we can think of is to stay close to you and the reason you died for us…that’s all we know what to do Lord. So we choose to do it. Amen.
