Did you ever play one of those parlour word games where you are given one word and asked to make as many other words as possible? These two caught my eye.
We often give up the sacred; that is our devotion to God, who is worthy of all our worship, for the scared; a position of fear, terror and worry.
How can that be? If we know God for all that he is then why do we so quickly forget when trouble comes along? I believe it is because we have let down our guard.
Keep a cool head.
Stay alert.
The Devil is poised to pounce and would like nothing better than to catch you napping.
Keep your guard up.
You’re not the only ones plunged into these hard times.
It’s the same with Christians all over the world.
So keep a firm grip on the faith.
The suffering won’t last forever.
It won’t be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ—eternal and glorious plans they are!—will have you put together and on your feet for good.
He gets the last word; yes, he does.(1 Peter 5:8-11, MSG)
Did you read the whole thing? If you did then you learned that it is not too late to move from scared back into sacred. You see, God wins and if you stay on his side so will you. These truths hold true.
Be completely sold out and obedient to the Word of God.
Greet suffering from an expectant deepening of your faith.
Believe God when he says He is in charge overall.
Prayer- Lord God, oh faithful Lord God of all, we choose the sacred and forsake our scared stance right now. Amen.
