Evangelist Joyce Meyer says that we are all like turtles, banging our shells together with no one being really being truthful about who they are.
Unfortunately, turtle shells can get ‘shell rot.’ If untreated, shell rot damages internal organs and may cause death. The wounded shell must be cleaned and medicated on a daily basis and the dead tissue removed.
What infection is attacking our shell today? How is it destroying our faith, our love for others? Do we need cleansing from unforgiveness, greed, selfishness, or pity? What part of us is so infected that it is killing our love for Christ?
Yea, the stork in the heaven knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle and the crane and the swallow observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the judgment of the Lord. (Jeremiah 8:7, KJV)
Prayer- Lord, forgive us. Make us clean. Amen.
