Did you ever think that Christmas always seems to include a lot of shining stuff? Silver dust on the wrapping paper, glowing stickers, tinsel and sparkling bulbs?
Sadly, the shine on us is often missing. Maybe we should cut down on the gift list? Minimize December chores? Wrap presents as we buy them? Buy cookies, not bake them? Email cards? Decorate less? Use paper plates? Have finger food parties, or pot-lucks, not sit-down dinners? Accept fewer invitations? Clean only the essentials?
If you still insist on a fine dining experience, here is a fast way to clean the silver.
1. Line the bottom of the sink with a long sheet of aluminum foil. Add several inches of hot water. Add 3 tablespoons of liquid fabric softener and 3 tablespoons of salt. Stir well.
2. Drop the silver into the water so it is completely covered with water. Silver will clean quickly. Dry with a soft cloth.
Wouldn’t it be great if our sin cleaned up as quickly as that?
Oh, wait! It does!
When we confess our sins, God is faithful and just and forgives us our sins and purifies us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)
