The gullible believe anything they’re told; yet the prudent sifts and weighs every word. (Proverbs 14:15)
The gullible person is easily taken advantage of. They are naïve, trusting, easily exploited, too trusting, and easily deceived. (Like me!)
I believed my friend when she said that when a penguin dies, the others form a circle around it, dig a hole in the ice with beaks and wings and bury the dead bird.
I believed her right till the point when she told me that then they all sing out this chorus.
“Freeze a jolly good fellow.”
“Freeze a jolly good fellow.”
Don’t suppress the Spirit, and don’t stifle those who have a word from the Master. On the other hand, don’t be gullible. Check out everything, and keep only what’s good. Throw out anything tainted with evil. (1Thessalonians 5:19-22)
May we never be gullible in regard to smooth-talking evil? Help us be alert to evil by enjoying the best of Jesus. Amen (From Romans 16:19-20)
