“There’s something greater that we can do here.” That nagging thought of a Drexel researcher who spent years studying hunger prompted her to take action. It is too easy to distance ourselves from the plight of others. Many of us live far from the inner city in comfortable suburban homes. Sure we know about hunger in Africa and we occasionally donate canned goods to a local food bank. In 2007, 36 million children and adults struggled with hunger in this nation and late last year 30 million people were receiving food stamps. This is a problem in this nation, too. There’s something greater we can do here. Ask the Lord and he will guide you.
