Again and again, I hear about churches that are struggling financially. They can’t make ends meet. Do you know why that is? Someone or several someones in the congregation are not fulfilling their obligations. Surely it is not you!
Day after day our household expenses go up; do you not think that the same is happening to our churches? Heat, hydro, office expenses and more eat up the budget. As Christians we are told not to be stingy, but generous. When I am struggling financially, I increase my tithe. I trust God to provide because He is bigger than my bank account.
One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. (Proverbs 11:24)
When we honor God first, he honors us.
Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.
Am I saying to give so you get? No, I am not. I am saying learn that by trusting God, we are showing that we are trustworthy. Are you on God’s trustworthy list?
Prayer- Lord, I pray people learn the truth of your provision not for the want of things but for the love of you. Amen.
