That Burning Feeling

If you’ve ever run up against some capsaicin, you’ll know what I’m talking about. Oh it can create a burning feeling that you won’t forget in a hurry. It can create stomach trouble like you wouldn’t believe. Still it’s now used to treat things like psoriasis and migraines, so there is a good burning, just like the one in Luke 24:

And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, … And they talked together of all these things which had happened. And it came to pass, that, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them…. And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them. And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.

And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures? (From Luke 24:13-32, KJV)

Will we ever forget the burning feeling we had when we first discovered the Christ?

Prayer – Lord, restore to us the joy of our salvation. Amen
