Church members think the pastor should visit more often. They certainly do their best. When pastor visits, then church members complain that they didn’t expect them and the house wasn’t clean and the children misbehaved. We are never satisfied.
- And yet, God visits us on a regular basis and we pay no attention. He speaks to us.
God said, “Don’t come any closer. Remove your sandals from your feet. You’re standing on holy ground.” Then he said, “I am the God of your father: The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob. (Exodus 3:5-6, MSG)
- He conquered the world.
(Jesus speaking) The Father is with me. I’ve told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world.” (John 16:33, MSG)
- He gives us joy.
The joy of God is your strength!” (Nehemiah 8:10b, MSG)
- He has plans for us.
I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. (Jeremiah 29:11)
- He wants a relationship with us.
“When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen. “When you come looking for me, you’ll find me. (Jeremiah 29:13-14, MSG)
And we yearn for a visit from the pastor when we have the God of the universe living with us, wanting relationship?
Prayer- Father God, thank you, thank you. Thank you! Amen.
