Then There Is Me

Noah beat a flood, Daniel a lion.

Moses, a kingdom, Dan’s friends? No fryin’.

Then there is me.

Samson slayed hundreds, Gideon too.

Abraham, obedient. Isaiah, true.

Then there is me.

Totally inadequate, feeling sorry for myself, drowning in sorrow; this is me today.

Do you ever feel like this?  How do we measure up to supermen like this? What could we possibly do for God that is worth anything to him, especially when we are at our worst, like I am today?

I am besieged on every side. I am tired and lonely and worn down. I have nothing to cling to so I do the only thing I know to do.

He who believes in Him [who clings to, trusts in, relies on Him] is not judged [he who trusts in Him never comes up for judgment; for him there is no rejection, no condemnation—he incurs no damnation] (John 3:18a, AMP)
