Is God picking on you? Is he asking more of you than he does of others?
How would you like to be Moses?
“Lead my people out of bondage, Moses. Confront Pharaoh and lead your people to Freedom.”
Perhaps you prefer Noah.
“Build an ark (the size of a football field), Noah. Call in all the animals in and save them.
Or Joseph, mistreated by family, employers and leaders.
What is God’s ask of you? How about this?
In everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. (Matthew 7:12, NIV)
Or this?
Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” (Luke 6:38, NIV)
Maybe this?
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. (Malachi 3:10, NIV)
If we aren’t willing to do the basic asks, it’s unlikely that God will call us to be a freedom fighter, a boat designer or a Prime Minister any time soon.
To whom much is given, much will be required (Luke 12:48).
Prayer- God, give us the courage to live out our lives in the footsteps you ordain for us. Amen.
