When headlines shout we need more calcium, Vitamin D or whatever, suddenly grocery store products suddenly show up with the ‘much needed’ additive in it.
Juices sport calcium and syrups gleam vitamins. Bread labels tout high fibre content. Market watchdogs suggest the amounts listed may not be correct, or in sufficient quantities to be of help.
Yes it really is getting hard to find pure, good, honest, recognizable food. Is all of life like that, full of stuff that someone else thinks is good for us? In portions they want to serve up? Can we ever find anything that started out one way and is still itself, pure and unadulterated?
1 Peter 2:2-Like newborn babies you should crave (thirst for, earnestly desire) the pure (unadulterated) spiritual milk, that by it you may be nurtured and grow unto [completed] salvation (AMP).
And can we pass that on?
Titus 2:7-And show your own self in all respects to be a pattern and a model of good deeds and works, teaching what is unadulterated, showing gravity [having the strictest regard for truth and purity of motive], with dignity and seriousness (AMP)
It’s a matter of taking in pure unadulterated spiritual truth and then living it out, modeling what we’ve learned.
Prayer: God these are high standards, but since you tell us to do it then it must be possible. Help us walk in truth and purity in every instance of our lives… In Christ's name. Amen.
