Using Your Bible – Part 4

A recent conversation led to several confessions. We were few, but the fears were many.

Fear 1- I live alone and fear falling with no one near to help me.

Fear 2-I am afraid of being forgotten.

Fear 3- My safe place has become my prison cell. Will I ever get out?

Fear 4- Life’s unexpected barriers.

Fear 5- Afraid to be the real me.

Fear 6-Upcoming speaking engagement.

Note friends that all of these fears were future oriented. None of them had happened to any of us. We were basically afraid of the unknown. We were spending our present worrying about undisclosed, undecided, indefinite, unheard of, inconclusive fears. What a way to spend our lives, living in fear of something that may not and likely won’t even happen.

Is fear your problem too? Then look up and memorize scriptures about fear. Recite them out loud. Believe them. God admonishes fear about eighty times in the Bible.

Isaiah 43:1 “Don’t fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine.”

Deuteronomy 31:8 “He will never leave you nor forsake you.  Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

Matthew 6:34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Today I concentrated on fear. This approach works for every problem you have. Finances, aging, children and more. God will help you deal with them all. Look up the verses, memorize, get them into your heart. Act on them.

Prayer- Lord when_________ attacks us, help us to do your bidding and in necessary, do it afraid.! Amen.
