Weight loss should be called wait loss. It sure takes some waiting for that scale to go down to lower numbers. Of course the waiting is longer when we don’t do what we ought to help the numbers move. We are supposed to be doing whatever is helpful. You know, eating less and exercising, both of which are the backbone of any weight loss plan.
We are anxious for the Lord to return too. The waiting seems endless. But there are things we can do while we wait.
Wait on the Lord, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it. (Psalm 37:34, KJV)
Say not thou, I will recompense evil; but wait on the Lord, and he shall save thee. (Proverbs 20:22, KJV)
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31, KJV)
Prayer: Lord, sometimes it seems all we do is wait! Thanks for something to do while we do. Amen.
