Since I broke my arm, I now have a wonderful gal taking care of my garden. She is terrific but honestly, the minute she goes home, a bunch of dandelions suddenly bloom forth. They cleverly hide until they consider it safe to appear.
Dandelions and sin have a lot in common. Sin also hides till it thinks it is safe to appear. Consider the last time you spewed forth anger or gluttony or a myriad of other not so nice things. Where on earth did it come from? It was hidden, waiting for the gardener to leave so that it could rear its ugly head.
Forgive me for prying but what weed is Jesus tugging on today? Why not give it to him and enjoy the benefits of weed free living?
The Bible doesn’t actually say that Christ weeded gardens but he’s digging in our spiritual gardens all the time. With our permission He pulls up all our festering weeds, leaving us free to act in the most incredible Godly ways.
For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. (Matthew 6:14-15, KJV)
Forgiveness is the fragrance the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it.” (Mark Twain)
Prayer- Lord, it’s so tempting to hang onto sin you want to erase. Weed us Lord; right now, today so that we, Christ’s garden, can be freed to glorify you. For His Sake. Amen.
