Who Moved

SCENE- Husband driving and wife on passenger side of the car.

Woman says “We don’t sit as close as we used to.”

              Man speaks “I haven’t moved.”

Dare we apply that story to our relationship with Christ?

This is the preferred position in our relationship with Christ.

John testified concerning him. He cried out, saying, “This is the one I spoke about when I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.”

Out of his fullness, we have all received grace in place of grace already given.  For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.  No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known. (John 1, NIV)

Grace and truth…through the Christ, near the Christ, from the Christ…The Christ who is still in the driver’s seat and has not moved.  If we have moved, there is still time to move back.

‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’ (Acts 17:28, NIV)

Prayer- Lord, little by little I inched into the wrong place. Forgive me and thank you for welcoming me back. Amen.
